This green little shrub like plant started out small and cute, but now it seems to have exploded and is everywhere. After having gone through the hair algae battle, I'm hoping this isn't just another variety of hair algae. After looking at different web sites and pictures, I'm guessing it's Maiden's Hair. What do you think?



If it is Maiden's Hair, what will curb its growth? Thanks for your help!

looks like some type of hair algae to me....looks quite pretty though.

Looks more like a Cladophora or maybe a Bryopsis species to me.

I was thinking Bryopsis as well. I've got a bit and keep trying to get rid of it.

I have this same "problem".

Any suggestions for removal/prevention?

I collect this(or something very similar) from tidepools Apart from being pretty, it gives my cuc something to do between feeds as its full of teeny critters.
