So, I finally bought a new 29g. I am going to combine most of what I have in both my 10gs, but wondered if there'd be any room for more that:
3 crayfish, 3 inches each and the centerpieces of my tank.
5 White Clouds
2 Gold White Clouds
1 Blind Cave Tetra
2 Paradise fish
1 Australian Rainbowfish
I will be using one of the ProQuatics filter that I've had on the 10g. It's supposed to cover up to a 29g, but is rated at 120gph. That seems low to me for a 29g, but for the sake of saving some cash (since I have 2), could I put one Proquatics filter at each end of the tank? I will also have at least 4 lines of tubing leading to airstones (the crays need a lot of oxygenation).
I am not starting out with all new water, since I plan on siphoning the majority of water from both 10g into the 29g and using the established substrate and filter media.
Okay, within all of these parameters, and assuming that I will end up adding about 25% new water to "top off" the 29g, in everyone's esteemed opinion, can more stock be added or no? If anything, I would bring in a couple of friends for the rainbow. I wasn't fully cognizant of the fact that he needed to school.
ETA: this tank is not heated (obviously) and my current guys are all supposed to do well without a heater according to my research. The crays need it lower that 76F.
E again TA: I realize the crays will eat what they can catch. These particular fish have been in the smaller tanks with these same crays for a couple of months and survived!
