Anyone keeping Silver Dollars? If so, what advice do you have on keeping them. How many should be kept together? Ideas on good tank mates? Breeding?
I've loved this fish for years, but am now doing some research into keeping them. Any information you can contribute would be helpful.
Thanks,
JazzyB

silver dollars are peaceful fish and can be kept in schools, but just note that if you have a smaller aquarium it might be a good idea to keep a smaller school because they can get to be 6". They arent carnivorous fish, so they can be kept with any peaceful fish pretty much. If you want some more information on silver dollars, you might want to look at aquaria central's own species profile.

Yeah I've checked the profile, however, I'm looking for current keepers of the fish and their firsthand experiences.
Thanks

I have 4 of them with an oscar. Nice little fish. They stick close together and are very bold. They don't mind snatching food right out of the oscars mouth.....
