Ok guys, I haven't posted here much but I am at a blank as to what to buy.

heres what I know I am getting

two 2.5 gallon tanks, if I have left over money I will get some cubes from a florist

ada amazonia II planting substrate

Some kind of light with cfl's in it. << 1. Will that be enough?

And I already have some plants I will be putting in it.
Stargrass
Java Moss
Maybe riccia

I am going for the iguwami look. 2. So what stones do you suggest?

Oh yah and I will have diy Co2 hooked up to an effective diy diffuser.

but 3. What else do I need in order to grow these plants and have a healthy tank?

^ Allong the lines of ferts, I already have nets, food, stress coat, etc.

So help me out guys! Thanks

1. For two 2.5 gallon tank, I think a desk lamp with a CFL elevated high enough so light reaches both tanks should be enough.

2. You could go to a local landscaper store and pick through the rocks to find what you like. Since the tank is so small, I think that they'll let you pick little rocks for free.

3. If you have a lot of light, ADA soil, and DIY CO2, I don't think you will really need ferts, but if you want to, you can dose small amounts of Excel or Flourish with a little eye dropper.

What do you mean by cubes from the florist?

Idk, people say that you can get little 6x6 or 10x10 cubes from a florist shop, then just hook up a red sea mini filter and mini heater and aqua scape! Idk, so I dont need root tabs?

Supposedly aquasoils nutrients will last 18 months before you need to add your own.I would however add ferts after a month or two though

hey, um so im a florist and I'm wondering what you mean about the cubes too. (hmm do i have something at my work that can go with my fish? news to my ears!) do you mean like floral foam?

I assume the 6x6 and 10x10 are the dimensions of acrylic cubes that may be used as nano-tanks, since I don't see why you would use floral foam in a nano tank.

You don't need root tabs with Aquasoil. Aquasoil has plenty of nutrients in them, Amazonia I has more nutrients than Amazonia II.
