I have a pair of transcriptis and noticed tonite some fry swimming around their cave. Here is the wierd part,the female stays with them at all times but my male brichardi has chased the male transcriptis away and wil not let him any where near the female or the fry. the brichardi chases away any other fish that gets near that side of the tank. my question is could there have been cross-breeding w/ brichardi and transcriptis or did the brichardi adopt the transcriptis fry?

I doubt there has been any cross breeding between the two. I think the adoption theory is more likely, but then again I haven't heard of that happening either.
