just wondering if anyone knows the cost of running aqua heaters.
i just installed a Stealth heater.. that can heat up to 45 gallons for my 40 gallon tank..

any have any numbers

To calculate the energy consumption of your heater : watts/1000 * hrs/day * 30 days * cost per kW/hr.

If your heater is 100w, runs for 12 hrs a day for 30 days, and $0.10 per kW/hr; then cost =100/1000 * 12 * 30 * .10 = $3.60 a month

Yeah, but it cycles on/off depending on heat loss and ambient temperature.

You could use the formula above to figure your MAX cost.... sub in your wattage and your cost per kilowatt hour..

for most folks...no worse than leaving a standard room lamp on all the time.
