Hello everyone,
I have a 55 gal tank that I will be installing inside a bar in my new house. My question is, are there any lights that can be used inside the tank instead of the normal florescent strip lights normally seen on freshwater tanks?
Thanks in advance.

There are other possible lighting options but I think fluorescents would probably be your best bet. Will the aquarium have some kind of counter overtop of it?

The bar top would be over it. I think I'm gonna have to just put the tank behind the bar instead of in it. :-)
Thanks.

55 gallon! Nice size tank..
I'm trying to picture what you are asking, but I'm sorry, I can't see what you are trying to accomplish..
You can buy little laser lights that go into the tank. I don't knwo how pricey they are or whether they are a good light source for plants (I don't think they are). I assume they are just spot lights that you can use to highlight areas of your tank. I have seen them for sale at WalMart and at my local petstores.
