I brought home some German Blue Rams last week and they are in Quarantine. The female has paired up with one of the males and started getting pudgy. Sure enough-tonight after work--they are in the back of the tank laying eggs!!! How cool is that! Now if by some small miracle, the eggs actually develop and are not eaten I may have some babies!!! The rams are kinda small/young so I am really not expecting to see any fry out of this batch...........but its exciting!!! I removed the other Ram (I had boought 5 and 3 remain. One died of stress the night I brought them home and the other died of 'Kale-water contamination'. ummm...that's a story for another day...). There are some glass shrimp left in the tank with the rams. I'm not gonna try to get those out right now as the rams will probably get upset with a net swishing around or the addition of a shrimp catcher coke bottle. Hope all goes well!!!! This is the first spawn and I hope not the last!

Yes indeed! To your Angels!!!!

AND.................

just like that its over.

Why oh why did you eat the eggs and allow the glass shrimps to feast along with you????

:silly: first spawns really blow.

Okay...not really. I am still happy! At least I have a pair that will spawn!!!!

awww bummer. It happens to use all. My kribs at the first 3 batches. After my female died =( I got another one and the egg eating has started again. Hopefully it won't take 3 times again.

I feel ya, my pair just ate their first batch of eggs as well. The female already looks like she's got a fat belly again so we'll see. Mine are pretty young as well.

my angels did that twice...your rams will get better at it after 4/5th spawn. just have to be patient and let them do their own thing.

when i had my first set of rams, it took them 2 tries to get it right. they'll get it, don't worry.
