I've been treating my Oscar for Popeye with Maricine-2 for that last 6-days, (treatment ended on Tuesday.) The swelling has gone down considerably, and it look almost normal yet there is still a lot of cloudiness in the eye and it is still slightly lifted. Should a just do a water change and polish the water now, and not start another treatment cycle, or should I start another cycle? This is in a 45G Tank, so another cycle would be pretty expensive.

Dowater change. popeye happens can be a few reasons, bacteria, poor water quality, poor nutrition, and a few other reasons that I can't think of right now :)

One of my cichlid has popeye once. After water change 3 times a week and feed more nutrition food (this was when I started feeding all my cichlids home made fish food), the popeye disappeared.

Since I've stopped treating him the Oscar does not look any better or worse. Today I will do a water change, (first chance, haven't had time lately,) and if it doesn't get any better I'll keep treating him.

A buddy of mine had the same problem. Do water change now, another in 3 days. Then do another treatment. After that do another change. Should see improvement from there. Real pain to treat. Good luck!!
