30 gallon, 3 green barbs, 3 cherry barbs, 2 rosy barbs, 2 golden barbs... the smaller goldens tail fin is being attacked, but I'm not sure by whom... should I isolate this fish and let it heal or is it going to die on me? should I feed a little more maybe? any input would be great... oh, and yashin fan, go islanders!

I've isolated the one who's been nipped at and am going to start treating tomorrow, but when it gets healthy, I'll probably get rid of the divider and let it fend for itself again, to see if they get along or not

Look closely at the 'nipped' edges and see if there's a minute white rim along the outermost tip. That's a sign of 'fin rot' rather than nipping. (Well, a nip might have started it...) 'Fin rot' is a combination of bacteria and Saprolegnia 'fungus.'

but the plants I have don't afford a lot of cover... I'm unwilling to up the lighting so I don't have to fight algae blooms all the time, so my plants are a little sparse... and I looked at the tail and it's definitely not disease... he keeps getting out of his divider area so they've been after him some more... my tanks a funky size, so I wasn't able to get a divider that fit properly, so i had to make due with piecing one together, but when another half gallon evaporates, he will be isolated completely... thanks!
