After seeing(and falling in love with) a 33 long in the store, I decided to get one and combine my 2 20 gallons tanks into the one 33L (same footprint as a 55 gallon, for those of you who don't know).
One 20 gallon is kept between 1.002 & 1.004 salinity with Instant Ocean salt. Inhabitants are: Knight Goby, Anableps, 4 Bumblebee Gobies, Flounder, "Neon" Goby & "Silver Dragon" Goby.

The other 20 is kept at 1.004 with regular aquarium salt and has: 3 Orange Chromides, Krib, 2 Cupid Cichlids, Candy Stripe Goby, 3 White Cheek Gobies, 3 Pitbull Plecos, Zebra Pleco, 2 Dwarf Puffers, Leopard Perch, Tiger Dat., "Silver Dragon" Goby & Gold Ram Cichlid.

Can I really combine the two and use the Instant Ocean salt exclusively? Most of the fish in the 20 with regular salt can be kept in brackish so I know they'll be okay, but what about the others(Plecos, perch, ram & cupids)?

That will be way too many fish for a 33. Your second 20 has way to many fish in that too. I would get rid of some of your fish or buy another tank for them. I wouldn't put plecos in brackish water. My plecs live in water up to 1.003, but I won't take them any higher than that. You have several fish that grow large and will need lots of space before long. The Anableps will need a big tank along with the Tiger Dat. The perch should be fine in brackish (low) but don't think the Ram would like it too much and don't know anything about the cupids. I would be careful having that many gobies in a 33. Gobies are extremely territorial and might kill some to get their space. Just warning you. Anyway, hope this helps.

I agree with MonoSebaelover,

That's WAY too many fish. You'd need over a 100 gallons to combine those two tanks.

your second tank also has FW fish mixed with BW fish (no matter what anyone says, you actually CAN'T do that). The plecos , the rams and the dwarf puffers should be taken out of that tank immediately or the salt will kill them. If you want to combine those tanks you're going to have to get a much larger tank.

I agree completely. I would set up the larger tank for the dat & anableps. They will be needing it! The plecos, rams & swarf puffers are strictly FW fish! Keeping a fish in water less than what is natural to them will lower their immune systems, causing diseases & early death=shorter lifespans. Actually, I'm surprised those puffers are ok. I put mine into a BW tank (when I was new at this & didn't know any better) & they were dead the next day.
