Has anyone had any experience with Exodon/Bucktooth Tetras? I have a new 55 gallon tank and maybe looking into getting 12 of them. I have not been able to find that much info on them.

You could start out with 12 which would be good to start out with but after awhile you wouldn't have 12. These things are like piranhas. They will thin their number out after awhile and you'll probabley end up with not much more than 6 or even less then that. Only one store in my area carries these and they are great looking fish but like already said they can be pretty mean.
Exodons are kept in large shoals to prevent killing each other. 10-12 is the bottom line for keeping them, most aquarists would suggest keeping at least 15 - 20 of them, but that won't fit your tank.
If you want some predatory fish for a 55g, I'd suggest 3 red bellied piranhas. Over time you may be able to introduce 2 more red bellies. Keep them well fed and you should have no problems.
