i have decided to get a catfish tank for my soon to be fish shed
i was thinking somewhere along the lines of:
4-5 glass cats
2-3 upside down cats
2 plecos
2 bristlenose
2 Panda Corydoras
1 pictus

what kind of size of tank would i need to keep these fish together
and any other catfish that would work

Do you mean common plecos? If so then a really big tank, say 100 gallon to house those 2 foot monsters/poop machines. Since most of these fish spend a large amount of time on the bottom you want a tank that is really long, not so much tall.

Also I would suggest at least 3 panda cories. They do best in groups of 3 or larger. The more the merrier.

I guess if the tank was big enough otto cats could go in there as well.

Most of the shark catfish speicies end up being too aggressive versus other bottom feeders so in this sort of tank it would be a no go.

Seems if you have only catfish the tank will be too quiet. They hide during the day or just sleep. Why not add some danios for dithers?

Not all catfish are nocturnal. Cories swim all day long. And dithers are a great choice for keeping aggressive fish on edge but I doubt they would do much for catfish.
