I just picked up a bristle for algae clean up duty in my tanks, and I was wondering if these guys are sensitive to high ph and if they really do well in taking care of green spot and brown algae like I've been told. I'll be also feeding it hikari algae wafers and cucumber

They should do ok in high ph as long as they are acclimatized(sp?) to it. Mine are in ph 7.8 and are happy.

They don't eat green spot algae though, I have 3 BN pleco in one tank and 1 in another and still have green spot algae problems in the tanks. The do however do a gereat job on brown algae and soft green algaes. I have yet to find any fish that will eat green spot algae and i have tried many(SAE,BN pleco,Clown pleco, otos, algae shrimp, zebra snails, other snails, rubbernose pleco). I good magnet scrapper or razor blade is your best bet for green spot algae.
