This pic was taken about a month ago just before I traded the hampster tube for the ferret tube. He is a male, and as previously mentioned in other threads is 21 inches long. His picture at:

big scary looking dont you think but beauty is only skin deep i bet its a awsome fish but not one id keep thanks for sharing it with us

according to the info from this site, he can grow to 22 inches. He is only an inch away. The one that I saw in the pet store was probably a little bit longer than that and a lot more massive. There was no way that I could put my hands around him and have my fingers touch. Quite large! When I got him he was about 2.5 inches and I only paid 5 or 6 bucks for him. I know the people in the store didn't know what he was,for months I thought he was a red pacu. Not even close. If they had really known what he really was, I don't think that I would have gotten him so cheap. their lose, my gain.

lol ive poked a fully grown australian lingfish it was on an excurstion it year 5 and i got kicked out of the aquarium for it cause he kicked and hit his head
