Hi, I just purchased some plants for future baby guppies to hide in along with a fish net breeder today. I recently added the mother guppy whom I believe to be pregnant in the fish net breeder and she looked pretty upset about it and tried to get out a little.
I was wondering if I should take her out and wait for her to give birth then collect the babies to add in the fish net breeder once they've come out. Or should I keep her in there until she has the babies.
My main concern is whether or not this will stress her out too much because she looked a little sad being isolated and all. I am hoping to find the best possible way for the mom and the future babies to do this.
Thanks to all who will reply.

Stephen when she` ready to give birth the red spots on near her anal fin will turn dark. Then you put her in the net.If you wait til she gives birth it`ll be kinda hard to cath the fry, those little buggers are fast.:D

Yea, you'll KNOW when she's ready. But breeder nets stress fish out so much. Throw her in a tank by herself when she looks ready to pop, and then you can scoop her out of the tank once she gives birth. If you use a small cup, it's less stressing to the mum. :)

yeah, i'd say the best thing to do is have one tank for the fry and one for the mom. once the mom gives birth, the babies will hide in the plants, and then when she's done, put her in a different tank and raise the fry in their own tank. i've actually raised fry without trying whatsoever in my community tank cuz i had so many plants and the fry would hide and eat whatever they could find.
