I need some help, can anyone identify this Chichlid, it was sold 8 years ago as a Greenterror, in its juvinal years it was told to me here that it was a Carapinte. It is very agressive, it killed a Red Devil, and a Jack Dempsy, and assorted other typr of chiclids. it is constantly reengineering the tank. It' get agressive when my 2 year old twin grandkids get next to the tank, it flares it's gills and fins and follows them.
it's in a 55gl. Thanks.

Yea i thought so too, but it's dosen't act like a Texas, anybody ever see a Nandopsis haitensis, aka Odo Chichlid or Black Nasty. I think mine is a female, and it does fit all it's temperments. a coworker showed me this forum called Chiclid-forum.com and this is as close of a spicies i've seen yet.

Yep, definitely a Texan.

Looks just like the texas I bought the other week. Mine is male, though. You can see him on the thread 'Green Terror Hybrid?' I started.

You're right, very aggressive. I tested him in my 75gal with my GT, and they went after eachother within minutes. They're back in their own tanks now, or course.

It looks like a texas as everyone has already stated but the fact it doesnt act like a texas doesnt mean its not. Not all jack dempseys are bad with tank mates, just like some oscars can be kept with tankmates and some cannot. cichlids have personality differences within the same species.
