I'm justing wondering how often people change their lights? Every 6 months? Yearly? They're very expensive and I'm wondering if people change them or leave them until they burn out?

I haven't changed my light ever. It's been about 3 or 4 years.
The lighting's quality has decreased a little bit. It flickers like crazy to get started up, and the brightness went down a smidge.

Not saying they were good lights to begin with. Single bulb, T8 or T5, 30 watt (no marking on K). Lights straight out of the box.

I replace mine when they stop working. I guess fluorescents lose some efficiency over time 'but I have not noticed any change in brightness or plant health after years with the same bulbs.

If there is light, it will grow.

Well that's good to know. When I got my lights almost a year ago I was told that most people change the bulbs every 6 months to a year because they lose the efficiency. I'm glad I know differently....thanks. :)

I use power compacts. After a year, I put in a new set of bulbs, and they were much, much brighter than the ones I had replaced..

the old ones still work, And I will be keeping them for spares...
