I purchase something call aqua-plus, it claim will remove the chloride in hr, is that really that safe, if yes i am planning to add this into soem warm water and wait for on hr or two and dump into the tank, instead of wait for days.

Aqua-Plus will remove chlorine from water--I don't think it removes chloramines. If you know you only have chlorine, follow the directions for how much to use to treat the water, and call it good.

Most chlorine removers work instantly, just because chlorine is a relatively unstable gas and it breaks down quickly. I know a lot of people who just add the chlorine remover immediately to tank as the water is being added. Seems to risky to my line of thinking, but if you are using a python system, then this is what you'd have to do. Since I still use the bucket brigade, I add it to the water as it is coming out of the spigot and by the time I get around to adding the water, it may have sat for 15 - 60 minutes.

Now, because chlorine is an unstable gas and does not last long in water supplies, many municipalities are going towards chloramine, which is ammonia plus chlorine and which is much more stable. If you're on public water, call your department and ask them whether they use chlorine or chloramine to treat their water supply. If it is chloramine, then you'll have to use a treatment (I use Prime) that rids chloramine.

Thanks ! they will remove the other stuff too, 1 cap for 10 gal for chlorine and 1 cap for 5 gals to remove chlorammes or the other way around, but good to hear, so i don't have to wait for days to prepare the water, and i can use of mix of hot and cold to bring the temp up.
wonder i have softwater in my house, is that o.k or i have to use the kitchen tap water ?
Thanks !

I have used AquaPlus as my water conditioner for years and have never had a problem. I use a thermometer if I really want to get the temp the same or just fell it to get it close then add the aquaplus. I let it sit for about a minute then pour the water in.

Does your tank have any live plants?
