Any help on this is appricated.

I have just gone through along battle against the beard algea and there were some casulties...

Wounded and on life support from great fight is a red tiger lotus and a madagascar lace. At one time these plants were beautiful and strong, but now they are on thier last leg and it seems that something in my tank has taken a liking to them and is slowly eating away at the remaining, and small leafs.

My questions are;
1) Would any of the following be eating these plant; Clown loachs, yoyo loaches, glass cats, guarmies, congo tetra's, SAE, Oto Cat, or Leopard Pleco (3").

2) To increase groth and protect against who ever has the munchies, would it be safe or advisable to place these plants into a floating fry cage (not sure what its really called, but the clear plastic thing that floates at the top of the tank when a fish has babies).

Any and all help is appricated,
cheers...

I had moonlight gouramies at one time, mine seemed to enjoy shredding up an occasional plant. What are you using for fertilizers to nurse these back?

Oh yea, i'm using both the florish excell and co2 comp as well as seachem tablets.

is there any chance of burning them since I have them floating at the top of the tank now in the containers???

does it look like something has been rasping on the plants or taking chunks out of the leaves? or do they seem to be dissolving?

excel can sometimes cause plants to basically disolve

Try feeding veggies you might have an overly hungry vegetarian.

leave them in the substrate too the fry box won't do any good.

what are your stats? gallons, watts, co2, ferts?
