You may have seen this in the general Section but here we go again, I have a light on my tank that has Odyssea bulbs. the bulbs that are in it are supposedly T6 bulbs 4x54 watts it came with 2 10,000 k bulbs and 2 of the blue bulbs. I am wanting to replace these but can'tfind replacement bulbs. Aquatrader has bulbs but the only daylight bulbs they have are the 12,000 k, are these ok to use on a planted tank or are they too much ? They have some other ooptions like going with 2 white,I am assuming once again the 12,000k and 2 Plant Lux. Would this be better? Or can I safely change the T6 bulbs out for the readily available T5 bulbs? :help:

I'm not familiar with T6 fixtures so can't say whether or not T5s will work.

About the K ratings, 12000k will grow plants probably about as well as the gro lux. Whether you like the color is a different matter. The 12000k will be a little bluish while the gro lux will be reddish.

Unfortunately I do not think T5 bulbs will fit. The combo of 12000K and Plant Lux sounds like it would work OK for plants.
