While I was doing a water change about 5 days ago my female betta was sucked against the siphon tube for a moment. A few days later, some of her scale began to fall off/stick out in the area where the siphon tube had gotten her. Anyway, a few more days have gone by and there was white puffy stuff in the wound, so I betadined her using a q-tip and diluted solution of betadine. After I did this, she started to bleed in the area... should I be worried about this? Was the white stuff some kind of blood clot?

Other than this, she has been eating but has been a little more subdued than usual.

No, it wasn't a blood clot. Most likely it was opportunistic bacteria capitalizing on an easy access. The wound was simply agitated by rubbing it (dabbing it) with the q-tip.

Keep an eye on it and treat again if neccessary. Eating is a good sign. If she stops eating (and you may want to do this anyway) quarantine her and try a 24 hr med. (something you add to the water daily after a water change). Good luck.
