so i have been battling this algae that looks like moss but is fine and very green and pretty but not on my plants. then i bought some cherry barbs, i did notice that the algae was going down and not growing as fast, and i didn't think anything but that i was winning the battle. One day i was looking at my cherry barbs and i noticed that all of there poo was green, so i started to watch them and sure enuff they would graz all day on the algee. so cerry babrs=algae control

the less you feed them, the more algae they'll eat. especially the females in my experience.

I've been watching them eat staghorn this week.

Really? That's fascinating. I never thought barbs were algae-grazers, or that anything ate staghorn.

i think more alot of fish actually eat algae just thay never really have a need to (i mean it's easy food that doesn't really move much)

I have some algae on my plant leaves and there are little bare spots on them from my cherries nibbling at the algae. Mine are spawning so soon I will have lots of them.

Rosy barbs will pick away at BBA. Probably not enough to eliminate it, but every little bit helps. Unluckily they will also eat some plants I have a rough time with slower growers.

My platy and mollies eat algae too. The less u feed them the more algae they consume, that's right.
