I was wondering if someone would tell me if it would be ok with proper filtration to put 3 oscars in a 72 gallon bowfront? If not what would be the minimum size tank for 3 oscars. Also, what filtration and other equipment would you recommend? Thanks for any help.

I would say a 72 would not be large enough for 3. I would recommend a 125.
As for filtration, the best solution once you get to a tank that large is a wet dry. Other than that, you will need at least 3 HOB or cannisters...

I don't have data to give a solid recommendation on a wet dry. The only one I have experience with is an Aqua Clear with a couple of Aqua Clear CAP pumps. Works well though :)
As for HOB's, Emperor 400's would do the job well....

I thought about a 72 g bowfront for my one oscar, but its only like 12 5/8" at the side. If your oscars get to 14" they'll only be able to turn around in the middle :(

a 73g bow will be just fine for up to 2 oscars. 3 might be good but will be pushing it.
it is very very rare for oscars to reach 14inchs the longest I can think of was 12 and he was very old.
for filters I like the Aquaclear 500s. they are rated for 100g+ so get two on there. and load them out with double sponges.
wet/drys are a very good option too. they are very easy to DIY too for cheap. Just type diy wet/dry in google and you should get lots of articles on how to. or just look in the DIY section here.
