ick, the quarantine tank and the hatchet fish

hello i have a q tank for my new fish that i use when i get fish from like petsmart or some other chain store - anyhow i have 2 pictus cats in the q tank some silver dollars n then i bought some hatchet fish , well good thing i q'd the hatchets cause a day later they broke out with hard core ick - yuck then this morning 2 of em' we're dead but i don't think from ick , maybe the stress of it all or something cause theyve only just gotten ick - so i did a 20% water change n then i bought some ick meds for scale lesss fish - because my pictus are in the tank and i can't move them because theyve been exposed my question is will the scaleless ick meds work on the fish with scales??? i figure it should? then how long after the ick clears do i have to continue with the quarantining before my new fish are ready for their bigger home currently they are comfortably sharing my 20 gal - thanks for all your help
ps this is day 2 of treatment so far not looking much better but i only began medicating them with this stuff last night- this morning

The medication shouldbe effective for all fish, but safe for scaleless ones. I would leave the fish in the q-tank for 4 weeks after the last sign of infection.
