Eel Catfish

I thought I would check with you Catfish Guru's to see if any of you have had any experience with or knowledge about the Eel Catfish or Channallabes Apus. I have become interested in these and I am looking for any information you have, and most importantly, I am trying to find out where I can purchase one.

a catfish eel!!!!!!! wtf! man i need to keep up on my fish...i didn't even know such a thing exsisted!i can only imagine what they look like.....

Some basic info on the critter...There are several other eel catfish out there, striped, spiny, etc. If your LFS can't order one, your best bet is going to be to contact an importer from that nation--sorry I can't identify one.

One thing about them, I hear they get fairly long (12 in or so) and that they can be fairly aggressive. Atleast I think thats right...
