Nics are awesome.

They are just all round great fish. Mine get along with everything that I have put them with.

Cichlasoma nicaraguense sometimes called copora nicaraguense

in the species profiles as the nicaragua cichlid.

Nice pic. I have three myself. I think I have a male and female in a tank alone right now.

My other male used to be with them until I noticed they were beating the life out of him. So, I moved him to another tank and he is happier.

yes- i had a male nic who was taking on a bifasciatus. most would think the fight would go in favor of the bifas, but it wasnt the case. i traded that nic in for the red hump. [in another post]
the sub-dominant males lose out when it comes to colors too. the meanest one is usually the prettiest.
