Okay, well I have been in the hobby of reefkeeping for over 4 yrs now and I must tell you, I have always found planted tanks with schooling fish very impressive.

So I have decided to try a planted tank. I am thinking a 55g, because they are readily available and cheap. I currently am thinking of the following, please tell me if I am off anywhere or anything I should add.

55G
Pine Stand
4-40W NO bulbs (in fixtures)
FilStar Canister 300gph
3" of substrate, 36lbs of Flora Base and 35lbs of gravel
Co2 system...already have

I was thinking of doing a lot of plants and a lot of cardinal tetras with some other fish that will match up well with the tetras (any recommendations, appreciated). I would like a grass type plant covering the bottom and some taller red and green plants across the back. I am also thinking a small piece of driftwood or two.

Thanx in advance!
