For me,

They are kinda like puppy dogs, always into mischief, always curious, just fun to watch.

my two cents...

they have awesome personality.

when they are in a large shoal the way they interact with each other is fascinating.

for example, you will occasionally find them all piled up in a corner of your tank playing dead.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all my clowns over the years. For me they were live and let live fish. If I didn't have a 9" pleco in my tank I would gladly welcome them. :D

and, as non-cichlid freshwater fish go, they're pretty colorful.

Well, not everyone is crazy about them. I for one like them alot. It's all personal preference, obviously. Many people are crazy about fancy goldfish, too...though, I can't say that I really care for them much. To each his own, I suppose.
I like Clowns because of their personalities, intelligence, and looks. They seem almost dog-like, as they can be very playful acting at times. The bigger they get, the cooler they become.

Yeah, what they said. I don't have any at the moment, but the ones I did have I loved, when they were visible. They tended to spend quite a bit of time hiding in a large castle I had in the tank, but in the mornings, raight after turning on the light, they were a lot of fun to watch. That was a great way to start the day, watching my "clowns" and eatin breakfast.

I'm crazy about clown loaches because they can be a very loving, social, and playful fish.
These fish definitely share a family type bond with each other. If you’ve had a tank of sick clown loaches you’d see that they’ll do their best to nurse each other back to health. The games that loaches play includes- follow the leader, keep away, king of the hill, tag, hide n seek, and with the occasional clicking contest. The more clowns, the merrier. I have 7, but can’t wait to get more, so I’m building a larger tank. I’m remodeling a room for this tank, so I’m definitely crazy and obsessed with them.

i too love them. they were one of my first fish that my dad got me for my birthday one year. somewhat expensive, but they are worth every penny.

I like clown loaches, and all loaches in general. Great scavengers and fun to watch. Also, they help with any snail overpopulation.

Yes, I agree with everyone else. They have a personality all of their own. The more you get the better ;). I cuurently have 2. im thinking about getting some more for christmas. and yes.. it took mine about a month to come out of hiding, they are very shy.

just thought i woul throw my experience in i bought 3 a few weeks ago they are little babiies just about 1 1/2 inches so cool! anyhow they stick together most of the time but one of em' is a pure explorer he'll take off on his own sometimes n check stuff out the other two are always close to each other i think the third one feels good just knwing his pals are nearby if he needs them or soemthing - but they are not your typical clowns IMO they are so NON - shy its great !!!

oh yeah get one more they like to have pals !!!

Of all the fish I have even kept, the Clown Loach would have to be the most expressive of all fish. My first two were purchased out of necessity ... snails everywhere ... but the others were added because they are so cool to watch (albeit best in the morning).

It always makes be laugh when they tustle with my pleco though. They all seem to enjoy annoying him by "invading his space". :) He also likes to play with them too - his favourite past time is peek-a-boo-loach.

Nothing beats a clown loach
