I have a discus aquarium and I bought a few more plants for it and some little friends must have come along with the plants.
Snails! and they have been helping themselves to my plants. I have gotten rid of most of them(there very small hard to see snails), but they keep appearing. Is there any thing I can do to keep them from multiplying or Is there any fish that eat snails?
I don't wanna mess with my tank to much but they keep appearing! errr! Help Please! :)

Yes loaches do a great job of getting rid of snails especially small ones. I have many many snails and my clown loaches ate most of them in about a month. Most Botia loaches will eat snails (zebra, yoyo, clowns are all good snail eaters). I am not sure about the other species (weather loaches, etc.). Zebra and Yoyo only get about 4" where as Clowns can get up to a foot. loaches.com has good information about most loaches.

There was a thread on the subject of which fish eat snails not long ago. Use the search feature to find it, it may help if you want to go that route.

loaches are generally good community fish, but can get agressive from time to time. I have a couple of dwarf loaches that I really like. They're cool looking fish that don't get very big. They were a bit expensive at $15 each though.

Loaches are snail eating machines... they'll take care of the problem for sure.

There are some species of aggressive loaches, but the common loaches (Clown, YoYo, Zebra, Khuli) are all peaceful. Heck, Khuli are probably afraid of their own shadows! ;)

All of these loaches will eat snails (Hmm... ok, I'm not 100% sure about the Khuli's... someone who knows out there?), but note that they also require company of their own species to feel comfortable. Clowns will also get HUGE... eventually. :D

Dwarfs are cool and stay small (still a community fish). Soon I'll have some room for some of those guys...

A good place to look for info on loaches is... loaches.com
