ok i wanted a pictus cat origionally but they grow to 10 inches so i dont think i want it in my 55 with my glass shrimp. i was thinking about a syndontis occilious or however ists spelled but they are sooo exspensive.

now im thinking about some small corys cause i heard they have personality in numbers. even though i think they are ugly a good personality can overide than. i dont mid the fish eating my glass shrimp i just dont want it to be able to lear the tank in 3 minutes.

any sujestions and does anyone know if clown loaches will destroy my shrimp i know they eat snails
 
My clowns do not bother my glass shrimp yet. Clowns will get big and if they can fit a shrimp in their mouth they will probably eat it. Other good loaches are zebra and yoyo's. They only get about 4" so they should leave your shrimp alone. Get at least 3 loaches as they are very social fish.
 
yeah i was just looking at some loaches online at www.liveaquaria.com ... not to buy from there i just like looking at their pictures and getting a genereal idea of the price.

what do yoyos and zebras look like??

oh and i think ive decided to go with 6 nanus corysits about the same as 1 and 1/2 pictus in the size

i want the fish to have friends but i dont want to overcroud my 55 though

i may only get 4 cory 2 small loaches about 8-12 danios ?#? red fin rainbow sharks, and some mid level fish oh and the glass shrimp

so far ive been thinking

top dwellers = danios
mid level = red fin rainbow sharks
bottom dwellers 4 cory 2 small loaches and glass shrimp(for deturis and algea)

does any of this sound dangerous
the red fin sharks are only suposed to be a threat to toher sharks in the midwater level they arent suposed to bother bottom dwellers or danios
and im probably going to go with a half planted tank
 
albino cories

i first thought they were very ugly too, then i had read sooooooooooooo many posts here about cories being the greatest thing ever so i thought hey i'll try em' after a while you stop thinking their ugly n just realize they are the most entertaining fish you can get on the bottom of your tank keep about at least 3 of em but i woul prob go for 6 or 7 n they will hang out together n clean the bottom of scraps they wont bother your shrimp either n you prob wont regret having them they have been one of the best things i've ever put in my tank they are so cool i woul go for some albino cories or some other type of cory but the albinos are awesome !!!
 
well the pet store where i live suxors and i cant buy the cories here so i will have to order them when im read

makes me wanna cry
