I had a Leo Danio in my guppy/tetra/platy tank. He got very mean and was terrorizing everybody. I tried adding a couple of Zebra Danios he wouldn't swim much with them. I tried him all by himself in a Q-tank... but he looked miserable. Tonight I put him in with the "Big Boys". He's in with a 1 Irid Shark, 3 Grouamis, 2 Silver Dollars, and 2 Plecos. He went from being the largest fish in the tank to that smallest? So far he seems OK. But is this cruel and unusual punishment to move him this way?

I know very little about small fish, but I would think that it would be just fine so long as the new tankmates are not agressive. The silver dollars might intimidate him just in terms of size, but I really think its alright. Is he moving around or tending to hide? If he is swimming around without behaving abnormal, then there is probably not an issue.

So far, he seems to swim around pretty freely. He doesn't go to close to the other fish yet, but it is a big enough tank that he probably doesn't really have to.

It is a 55Gal ( PS. I know that Irid Shark needs to move to a larger tank some day, Plecos to someday I suppose). He seems to be eating well and swimming the whole tank now. I just felt bad... almost like it was his punishment for chasing the little guys in the other tank. Now I'm thinking he will be very happy chasing and being chased by the big guys.
