My favorites are ryunkins, orandas, and veil tail (although I currently don't have any veil tales...maybe the next tank)
On the other end of the scale, I can't seem to get into bubble eyes or celestial eyes.

I forgot to specify colors:
Ryunkins - red, red & white,
orandas - red cap, red & black
veil tailes - any color, I love the finnage

Oh yah, I forgot about the colors. For me, Ranchu: golden body with red head, Oranda: red and white, Viel tail: red and white or red.

Hmmm...It's hard to pick just one...I love Black moors and Pearl Scales. I even like the telescope eyes:)..

Plain Old Comets - there's something comforting about them. I can't stand the bubble eyed ones and such.
I'm for Orandas... Had some in a small pond a while back. ;)

Mine is the common goldfish and the sarasa comet. My sarasa comet is just beatiful. He's red and white and looks like he has white face paint on beneath his eyes. Lovely fish :)

i go with bubble eyes,i like pearl scales because they look so cute with the golfball body but it is torture for the fish.
Another vote for shubunkins.

ditto on the shubunkins
Just ranking some of the fat ones by my preference.
Moore - Majestic. A full grown moore is to me reminiscent of a Chinese parade dragon. The large eyes give the impression of a wise being watching over the world around him. This is what I think of when I think of a goldfish.
Other Telescopes - Telescopes are my favorite, Moores just especially so.
Ryukin - Asthetically pleasing to me and often very brightly colored at the lfs. Ryuking have the advantage of looking good at even a very small size.
Red Top Oranda - Such a clean looking fish. These are perhaps the affordable, indoor version of the tancho koi.
Lionhead - These are incredible as adults and would have been higher on the list if they appealed more to me at a smaller size. A three inch lionhead just doesn't even approach the authorative look of a full grown adult. I do not care for white headgrowth, as the white has a transparednt look which to me makes the fish look frail.
Ranchu - I like these almost as much as Lionheads, but the body shape is somewhat less appealing to me as the head appears less prominent.
Celestials - An attractive fish, but I've only ever seen them in person in a very dull orange. I have never owned one, but if they stay on the bottom as I expect they would, then I would likely never own one for that reason.
Other Orandas - I just don't care for this variety as much as I do the others. These look overgrown to me at full size, can't put my finger on why that is though.
Bubble Eyes - Too frail looking. These do not appeal to me at all.
Pearlscale - I don't like pearlscale anything.

Well....
Orandas are my favorite when they're little, but I don't like the whole "brains on the outside" look when they get really big.
On the other hand, I love a fully grown butterfly koi, preferably silver-white, but I'm not such a big fan of them when they're little...
I'm wierd. I like regular old grey pond carp. They look very...serene somehow....
Every single one of them
I love them all

Wow! Avoxo really? I personally feel that some types are ugly. Such as celestial eyes and the frog heads.

Of course GF that is what fascinates me about goldfish there are so many strains all from one common goldfish. What other kind of fish do you know of that has as many variants in shape and color as goldfish that we can keep or have access to. One question though what is a frog head (another name maybe)?

It is varietysimilar to a bubble eye goldfish, but instead of large bubble eyes it has quite small bubbles, they look sort of like like they have been deflated.

As a patriotic American, I feel that it is my duty to vote Comet, the only variety of goldfish started here.
Okay, maybe I don't feel obliged, but there is something about a 25 cent fish that keeps a pond free of mosquitoes all summer long, has personality, and can withstand some mighty cold temps. The Comet to which I refer lives in a 5g bucket (with water changes of 50% every other day, but still...), survived the cracking and subsequent leakage from his 20g high, gets pestered by our cats, and doesn't complain a bit (yes, I know fish don't complain, but washed-out color makes a statement nonetheless!) He's a survivor, and a cheap one at that, so I think that we've got our money's worth and more from him.
How can you top that?
~Matthew
Ryukin....i love there body shape, the long fin ones

I like Tosakin and Ryukin goldfish... very nice looking fish. The bubble eyes and such are a little scary lookin'! I also like the great fantail classics, as I had one when I was two and would watch it till I fell asleep for years! I also like the red & white comets... graceful and powerful ones they are!
Aloha!

Bristol and London Shubunkins...not becuase their named after English cities...but because of their great colouring. But they're not top...the common goldfish is top. They are all then closely followed by sarsa comets.
