I have read in a few places that the vampire crabs seem to have a high mortality rate either during or shortly after their molt. Have you experienced this with any of yours?

vampires are totally terrestrial? they don't go in the water at all?
They will go in water but it's not necessary for them. I am now on my F2 and F3 generations in my other tanks, all have minimal water

Any do-aqua products? Like specifically tanks and lights?
Yes, I have the do-aqua stuff. What do you need?

Everything =)

I lose a few here and there, but I've never lost enough to destroy my colonys. I think it was mostly due to lack of food, calcium. the ones I have FS are WC stock but I have quarantined them for a month just in case

luckydud13
04-07-2009, 8:57 PM
The prices he listed looked the same. Only difference is that he had stuff in stock and if you bought one of all the mini cube series, S,M,L, it would only be 170 instead of the regualr 310.

Those micro-crabs are awesome! Have you been able to breed them?

I've tried and haven't seen any babies.. though all of my females have gone into berry several times. Too bad I sold most of them last night though I've had the females for about 4 months with no luck. I do have several shrimp species ans asassin snails in the same tank with them though. I have yet to get actual picture evidence of anyone breeding them in FW.

Are your ADA/Do-Aqua stuff cheaper than Aquaforest? :-o

Jerry, AF is the official distrib for all the ADA stuff. I think the rest is self explanatory.

Could you get the Do aqua Mini M

luckydud13
04-08-2009, 7:29 AM
^^ I believe he said he could.

Arakkis, I have a couple questions if you dont mind.

1. Besides price, what is the difference between ADA and Do-Aqua tanks?

2. How many Watts is the Do-Aqua light? I believe it said 75 halogen? Correct me if I'm wrong.

3. Is Do-Aqua not going to be making its own variation of the Aquasoil substrate?

4. Could you do a price check on the price of: The light, (whatever style is cheapest), the Co2 music glass mini diffusor, the violet glass mini out/in, and finially the be green liquid additive.

5. Also, if you want do you have a price sheet or something? There still isn't one on the ADA site.

Jag1980

I'm interested in what the price difference is from buying online at some other store and buying from you? Or is it pretty much the same price, just you have it in stock? Rocks and Driftwoods

Could you get the Do aqua Mini M

Yes $39

^^ I believe he said he could.

Arakkis, I have a couple questions if you dont mind.

1. Besides price, what is the difference between ADA and Do-Aqua tanks?
It's just the affordable version from ADA. Do! glass tends to be thinner on the larger sizes and is a tad shorter. And Do! has a glass cover also

2. How many Watts is the Do-Aqua light? I believe it said 75 halogen? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I haven't heard of it, and I can't order lights yet for Do!. Sorry I can't be of much help here

3. Is Do-Aqua not going to be making its own variation of the Aquasoil substrate?

Nothing has been said. aquasoil is already pretty cheap if you think about it. Ecocomplete and seachem flourite are more expensive pound per pound

4. Could you do a price check on the price of: The light, (whatever style is cheapest), the Co2 music glass mini diffusor, the violet glass mini out/in, and finially the be green liquid additive.

I am assuming from your previous message you are looking for a mini-s so I'll guage everything to that.

ADA light (mini-s) $195
Do! music glass mini $39 Do! CO2 diffuser is $39 (I have no idea which you are refering to)
Do! Violet glass mini is $50
Do! Be green $10

5. Also, if you want do you have a price sheet or something? There still isn't one on the ADA site.

If I wrote all the prices of everythin I have, it'd be 100 pages long

I'm interested in what the price difference is from buying online at some other store and buying from you? Or is it pretty much the same price, just you have it in stock? Rocks and Driftwoods
it's pretty close though ADA sets our prices so I can't play much with the numbers. many store don't carry them because it's not cost effective. I just got into it because I wanted it =)
I have about 24,000sq ft building full of stuff though from many many companies

If you have a warehouse or a garage and a one man operation, you can do so but the place is rather large and is a physical store. Some stuff is close to retail and some isn't. It isn't cheap having to care for 22000gal. of water.

Dunno on the canister though I'll look at the wholesalers on tuesday. I think zoomed makes one too.

I have the hairgrass, as for the light, how about a coralife dual (18Watt total light output)? I figure put some legs on it and it should do well.

That totally depends on rarity.. send me a pm and describe to me which ones you like. Then it'll be easier to see which ones you want to know prices on. I'd spend all day to writing prices lol... I usually never write the prices on the corals on the glass in this tank because it'll take up all the glass lol

I have regular joker snails(looks like the sulawessi joker minus the red).. and maybe 1 sulawessi joker left
Apistos.. hrm.. not much: Apistogramma borellii + Apistogramma ramirezi, sometimes can get Apistogramma agassizi but they never seem to do very well

I have no double red cockatoo cichlids at the moment. The wholesalers are asking for way too much money for them.

Hey Chris, do you guys have access to Norman's lampeye? I'm looking for around 30-40 pcs. I'm regretting not picking some up a while back from Mgamer when it was 1.50 for 20+ :-(

Can the Geosesarma be kept in a hermit crab tank? http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v165/captmicha/Pets/Hermies/?action=view&current=P1000362.jpg

The only difference in my tank now is that I've switched out that small green bowl in the top corner and put in a different one that's the same size and shape as the one in the bottom corner. One is salt water, one is fresh. They're deep wading pools. This is a 20 gallon long. It has a clear plastic lid to keep in heat and humidity. Heat is around 80, I'm working on getting that higher or at least stabilized and humidity is around 75-80%.

The Question is will the Hermits eat them. I guess it boils down to size of the hermits since the crabs only get barely 2in. The geo's are freshwater type terriums

So the habitat isn't suitable? How much time do they spend in the water? I can't find a lot of consistent info about these guys. My hermit crabs are really peaceful and my smallest is about 2" himself.

They don't spend much time in the water. I'm not saying that I know for sure, but the hermit crab has 1 leg up having the shell for protection plus the big claw.
