I have my 8 gallon hex up and running with four panda corys and a male betta (follow My Tank link bellow if you want updated pics). I have betta bites for the betta which I will offset with some frozen bloodworms and I drop two sinking shrimp pellets a day for the corys.

The question is; what else should I be feeding the corys? When they were in my 10g it was easy since there were other fish that got flake food and the corys picked up the scraps. In the hex there really won't be any scraps.

Should I still toss in some flakes every now and then? Will they eat any veggies as treats?

Also, I didn't notice this until I put two new pandas into the tank with the two existing ones but my old pandas seem to be less white. When compared against the new pandas they almost seem to be yellow or brown in tint. Anyone know what this could be

For feeding, my cories love algae wafers. They will appreciate a flakes as well--and the betta will also eat them.

For color--couple options. There may be more than one cory that is called a panda. Could be a matter of age, as well. I know that my spotted cories vary quite a bit in terms of color. Probably not a big deal.

Well, the pandas are from the same lfs and probably within weeks of each other in age so that probably isn't it. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of "brown cory disease" ;)

Thanks.

My cories like the algae tabs as well, though they were reluctant at first to eat them. I would have at least 2 types of sinking foods and alternate them.
I would do the same for the betta as well. One day give him betta bites then the next day a flake food. Tetra makes a betta flake that is nice and small and easy to eat. Or else hagen makes a livebearer food that is nice and small as well. My betta likes both.

Variety is always a good idea.

As for veggies, I try to through some in every so often but only the snails seem to like it.

Corys love, adore and will thank you for blood worms. Corys are prinarily meat eaters. I feed mine all of the following:
Frozen blood worms, frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine, earthworm sticks, hikari sinking tabs, shrimp pellets, flake, FD tubifex.

My panda cories slowly turned somewhat brownish as well, but they are healthy so I doubt it is any sign of illness.

They've been in my tank for about 3 months now...
