I have 3 large pieces of drift wood in my 125 gallon tank. I know that wood leaks tannins into the water. Its not distressing my fish any. I'm wondering if it changes the ph in the water any?

It will likely reduce the pH a bit. My water is 7.2 from the tap after sitting overnight. It goes down to about 6.8 in a 40 gallon tank with 3 medium sized chunks of wood.

I used to have such a prob in my 20 gallon with the ph going down that I took the driftwood out and the ph stayed ok after that. Don't know why my driftwood was such a prob,but it was. I really like the driftwood,just got tired of watching my ph fall.
