I recently set up a new tank that is about 6 weeks old. I had a Yellow Tang and a Percula Clown fish in it. I changed the water last weekend and it got really cloudy after the change. It cleared up within 6-8 hours. 2 days later I added a Coral Beauty. Within 48 hours of that my Tang died. Did the cloudiness kill my Tang?
Did the Coral Beauty do it? or I also have a Green hair algae that is forming all across the sand....did that do it ? Or are Tangs just a little to sensative for all this ?

Thanks

Jeff

Welcome to Aquaria Central. The biggest problem is Tangs are very sensitive and are not recommended for tanks under 6 months old. Same with Angels. If the tank went cloudy it could be because of a bacteria bloom or you stirred stuff up in the tank which could have caused an ammonia spike. Anyway, I would let your tank settle down for a while and pick hardier fish for the beginning and go for the more sensitive fish later. Anyway, hope this helps.
