View Full Version : 8800k bulbs??
I am in the process of setting up a 135 gallon planted tank and have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with. For lighting I have a 72" strip light with 2 x 96watt compact flourescent bulbs that are 8800k. Do you think this is enough light and are the 8800k bulbs ok? I checked my other bulbs and they are all 6500k so I don't know about these. Thank you

You need another 72" 2 X 96 watts to give 2.8 watts per gallon, which is good for live plants.
I have had both the 6500K's and now the 8800K's. I like both..
The 6500K's are slightly more of a yellow color.
If you can, return the fixture and get a Custom SeaLife 72" 4 X 96 watts. They now have the MoonLite (night lights) LEDS's built into the fixture --- and it looks Great at night!!
Thanks, where can I see one of those bad boys? Must be like looking into the sun!! Somewhere online? Thanks
