Brownish Yellow color to water (algae?)

recently my water has been turning a borwnish yellow color i do a water change and it gets better but then it comes back in a few days my dad thinks its algae i think it might be some of the color of the drift wood i just bought for the tank what do you guys think and n e ideas on how to fix this problem

If you just bought driftwood I agree that this is probably the cause. If you remove your driftwood and soak it in a bucket, you can change out the water until the wood is finished leaching its tannins.

Do another water change and place carbon in your filter. You'll be amazed at what carbon can do in 24 hours. ;)
