after christmas (when i actully have some money) i'm looking into setting up a tank for mudskippers.
i'd probably buy either a 3' or 4' tank, only 12/18" high, by around 12/18" wide.
my question is, which particular species would be best suited for this tank, and would i be better off building a beach, or platforms for these guys?
also, what water conditions (as in pH and salinity) are best to keep them at?

any further info would also be greatly appreciated.

It is totally up to you on size but the bigger the better. I would say go with the 55 or 75 if you can. I had the greatest set up a while ago for skippers where I had the Second Nature (Tetra) Vivarium where it had a pump, river then a wall which would let out into a reservior. That would be the ideal set-up. The Skippers loved the River (it will work best in the 55). They would frequent it a lot. I don't really know the different species and they are a bit hard to differentiate if I remember correctly. pH they will like 7.2-7.8 in that range, and they like salinity around 1.005-1.010. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Anyway, hope this helps.
