hey now,

I was in the lfs tonight and saw the zoo med aquaglow light for plants witht he ideal spectrum of light that plants use for photosynthesis.

Would this be a wise investment? I now have the stock flourescant light that came with the all glass deluxe hood.

If its even just a bit better for my plants I am willing to get it!

thanks!

take care,
jared

i would go with Zoo Med's Tropic Sun bulb. It is 5500K and is a nice white light. I have these bulbs over my plant tank and the plants love them. In fact, my plants pearl the best under these bulbs. I think that most people around here would suggest the 5500K to 6700K colour temperatures for plant tanks. Another nice thing about these bulbs - they are the cheapest that Zoo Med makes. A 48" bulb is ~ $7.00 mail order.

You could also go with the Phillips ultra daylight tube. Home Depot sells them in bundles of 2 for $5.00. They are 6500K.
