Lace plant affecting crypt?

I have noticed something weird in one of my tanks. The tank has 2 lace plants and a few crypts. On one crypt plant, the leaves close to the lace plant are showing patterns similar to that of the lace plant. In the picture, the leaf in the centre is a crypt and the one on the far right is a lace plant. You can see that part of the crypt leaf is changing and looking like the lace plant. Is it possible that the lace plant is somehow influencing the crypt?

wow. a lace crypt! looks cool. how close are the two plants? are you sure that the crypt isn't rotting so that you can see the lace plant behind it?
 
No its not rotting. Its a relatively new leaf as well. The leaves are very close, interwined. I separated them for the benefit of the picture. But the bulbs are not that close. There must be at least 6" between the bulbs.
 
oooooooohhhhh.....that would be cool if it can do that. i wouldn't really doubt it. from what i understand crypts are very versitile.
 
Are you sure it is a crypt?? Does not look like a crypt.
 
It is actually an aponogeton. I got it wrong and was corrected on another forum. I'll try to get some more pics on Monday when I return to the office.
