Took this recently.

Blue Dempsey. This fellow has colored up nicely.

Young adult male L. Curviceps 'Santarem'. Has colored up nicely as he grows steadily.

My juvi C. Sajica. Right now this guy is 1.5".

This is one of my best pic of my Jack Dempsey. Finally, he stayed still enough for me to take a good pic of him.

Little female A. Spinosissimus. My big male likes one of my 2 females, but I think the female is too young to be interested in the male yet.

My Green Severums are at it again...breeding  Here they are...lips/jaws locking to test each other's strength. It looks painful, but no harm done...possibly just few scratches.

Took this pic from bottom up.

Great pics! Somehow I missed this post....

Love the Blue Dempseys. I'd like to get a breeding pair of them.

I've had Severums in the past but never had them breed. Do you have to do anything special for them?

Thanks guys!

DarthV...that's what I thought regarding the gender on the JD. Someone told me that it is a male not a female. I have no idea anymore. There are times that this JD will show a lot of color on his/her body. There are times it is just plain color. I guess I have to wait a bit more before I can tell. It is around 4" right now. Once I'm sure, then I can get this fish a mate.

Sayer, I do have a pair of Dempseys, but I don't plan on breeding them. Beside, you can't breed BDs together. It has to be a BD with a JD to get healthy fry.

As for Severums, with my Green one anyway, I didn't do much. They just happen to like each other. However, I do have a pair of H. sp. 'Rotkiel'. They hated each other. The male would bully the female to no end. I seperated them for a few months. I just put them back together. Now they like each other.

As for breeding them, I just keep their ph low...around 6.5 with temperature 75-82. They just breed none stop. Now they are at their forth batch of fry. I just use their fry as feeders right now. If I keep them, I would need a huge tank. Once they started, they never stop :D

That's too bad..... Are they that in-bred? :(

No...because of recessive genes. Jeff Rapps has explained this before in MoJo's Forum.

If you want the information, I can get that for you.

Thanks, I will search MoJo's forum.... I wonder how many people know about this. I saw a whole tank full of them at a LFS a couple of weeks ago.

Oh I have a question! Your fish that look like they are kissing what are they doing? My fish do they same thing and I don't know if this is fighting or loving.
