Would over-dosing water with Prime kill off fish?

I had a fish store move my 135 gallon while some house renovations were going on, and today is the morning after the move back I found the fish gasping @ the top along some floaters. The filters were running, temp is ok.

Then I come to realize they used ALL my Prime, which says a capful per 50 gallons. Probably HALF of a 16 oz bottle!

Should i go ahead and do a water change if the Prime has ruined the water quality?

Help!

Wow the cap is bout a tablespoons and 2 tablespoons equals 1 oz coming out to 16 dose or 800gals worth of prime comes out to bout 6 doses worth for your tank. Maybe do a water change if u feel you need to you got enough prime in there to not need to worry bout putting more.

Bottle says 5ml per 50 gallons, and I figure they used 250ml with half the bottle. So they dosed for 2500 gallons? Thats way over 10x, right??

So 50% water change? I'll call the fishstore before I start. They are a VERY good fish store, so I'm quite suprised about the outcome here.

Oh yeah your right hello i was way off half asleep. I got a 8.5fl oz bottle and it says treats up to 2500gal ok calculator time comes out to 18.5 times the dose so ummm maybe 50% then later today do another 50% that should get the prime dose into the recommended range.

2 SAEs, 2 Plecos, 1 Clown Loach confirmed. Biggest loach breathing heavily, so I hope he makes it. I've spotted most of the other loaches, so lets hope that'll be it. Pretty heavily planted tank, so bodies aren't always obvious.

So sad to see my friends go. :(

if u can manage do a 75-80% WC I know sometimes meds or additives reduce the amount of oxygen that can be distributed into the tank. Ide start on the WC right now before u lose any more fish

ya, so how about those tests?
the guys might have just spilled your bottle by accident.

Yeah water parameters would be nice. But as far as them accidently spilling the bottle if they had done that then they should of mentioned it or fixed the problem. I for one aint worried bout the reason behind why or how it got in the tank but rather fixing the problem. Figure out why or how after you save the rest of your fish stock.
