I came across a deal for an 80g acrylic tank... $500, no aparent scratches....

My question is does acrylic tanks absorb chemical treatments.... the guy selling this tank is also offering a pluthera of random chemical treatments for the tank. He has been running it saltwater, but I am worried that the acrylic has absorbed the chemicals and that it may come in to play later... what do you think?

Also, the tank's demensions are 2' tall, 15" deep, 4' long.... is that too tall for a good reef set up (will I have problems with lighting without upgrading to MH)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

new acylic tanks don't absorb chemicals, but do require a good cleaning like any tank.

as for the heights, thats not a problem, there are several very strong T8 and T5 bulbs out there that would penetrate that deep.
