can someone tell me what kind of cichlid this is cause it mated with my friends female convict

its a hybrid. dispose of it now.....
 
wow dispose of it ? Just curious as to why ? mutts create serious problems ?
 
I was just kidding on the "dispose of it" part, it was the purist in me commenting..... As for what is it a hybrid of... well that can be numerous things.

so then should only the same color people have babies so that hybrid children don't happen :crazy:

I personally see no probs with having hybrid in home aquaria:dance2:

I personally vowed I would never buy a parrot fish, yet, the other day I was getting some feeders and I happened to look in the severum/blood red parrot tank and there was this parrot that looked like a green severum.

I thought parrots were suppose to be red or orange but this one is greyish with brownish green verticle striping and a dark horizontal slash. Looked cool so I bought it, will be interesting to see what it turns into.
 
Yep, it's a Flowerhorn.
 
Did the flowerhorn successfully mate with your friends female convict? Does he have any fry from it?
