Is there a porous container that i can keep the foxtail floating plant in, so that my africans wouldnot eat the plant?

A big porous floating ball would do. Kind of like a giant bio-ball! :)

Porous floating ball...

Call me crazy (You're Crazy!), but how about one of those balls that you put a hamster in so it can run around the room?

I have foxtail floating plants. It does better up at the surface. It grows well and takes out polutants out of the water.

So I want a porous container to prvent my africaaners to eat the plant, and let them grow.

You could try to start by feeding them food which contains lots of spirulina.(not sure spelled that right) Lettuce can help a lot too. Take some big leafs, place a little stone in the middle (to make it sink), wrap the leaf around the stone so it looks like a little plant (and it does) and a piece of yarn will keep the stone in place. (hope you get the picture)
Chances are big they will eat the lettuce instead of the foxtail.
