I bought a bunch of Rams about 2 weeks ago. I lost one the other day and have noticed that another of the females has that looks like a protruding anus. Clear color and only maybe 1-2 millimeters in length, but clearly part of her body and not something coming out of it. She also looks bloated but difficult to differentiate from swollen with eggs. She swims around well and appears to be eating ok. Anyone else seen this before? Could this be parasites? Any treatment suggestions?

It sounds like she's ready to breed. If she's fatter than normal and obviously doesn't have bloat, it's most likely because she's got eggs in her. The clear thing is probably the papilla which designates that she's ready to breed. Can you tell if she's paired up with a male? If she has, remove all the other rams or someone's going to get hurt. Hope this is what is up, good luck!
