Hey Now all,

I have aquestion about reading the final results of the nitrate test.

When I hold the tube up against the white part next to the color blocks as pictured in the directions, I see a shade that is between 5-and 10.

Now...if I look directly down into the tube at the top I see a much darker orangish-reddish color....which would mean I have excess nitrates. So at the very top its a much darker color than the rest of the tube below.

So how do I judge it?

thanks! I hope I explained it right.

take care,
Jared

You should read them looking though the side of the tube against a white background (like the card).

Perhaps the colour looks different looking into the tube from the top because of the way the light is refracting?

Yep, yep.

From the side.

IMHO this test could be a bit better designed. I also find it difficult to read nitrite levels with this kit. Not much difference between the 2ppm & 5ppm levels on the card.

hijack: jt, into bimmers?
