View Full Version : cichlids with fullgrown tiger barbs?

are there any cichlids (4"+) besides (severums&firemouths) that wouldnt b able to consume full grown tiger barbs? the tank size is 125gallons.
seems like there would be tons. acaras, geos, rainbows. ive got those and couldnt really see them going after a full grown tiger unless you forgot to feed them for a week. just dont get one of the 10+ really aggresive ones and id say your ok.

I think as long as you stay with a smaller, less aggressive species, your barbs will be ok...ive had tiger barbs for years and some of them can be quite fiesty! Im sure they could hold their own if it came to it! Just keep them well fed and i dont think youll have any problems.

Tiger Barbs are very fast and should be able to keep out of the cichlids way. I have them in with a large female Midas cichlid with no problems so far.
